Yeah, so it’s been a while. In fact, it has been 430 days since Mimic was published. Goodreads sits at 4.11 stars, which is, honestly, a lot better than I expected. I was aiming for solidly between 3 stars and 4, so I’ll have to take credit for a bump of family bias.

The second round appears to be starting, with sales picking back up as the first round of readers start to get around to reading, recommending, and passing on copies. I’ve distributed several copies amongst the family and they seem to be spreading around. Oregon, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Nevada (I think?). All of these have been… dare I say it… Mimic’d. Ouch. Yes. I was that corny.

In other news, I’ve started a second book. Well, more than started. As of this writing, I have penned 54,344 words towards the second book. In the future postings, we’ll give you snippets, excerpts, and some of the related research. Honestly? I’m not sure yet how I feel about it. I think the writing is more solid than Mimic, and it definitely feels less forced. However, the subject matter is perhaps a little too niche and may not resonate. More on that later.

Yeah, nothing really to say here. Life goes on, and it’s been a cool ride to hear the positive reception to Mimic. Here’s to hoping it continues and I can keep moving forward with the second.
